AZERBAIJAN – UPDATE: Court Hearing Held for Pastor
On July 22, a court hearing was held for Pastor Shabanov after he was arrested for possession of an illegal weapon. Pastor Shabanov's family insists the gun was planted by police. According to The Voice of the Martyrs contacts, “At the hearing Shabanov's lawyer informed the court that documents were being withheld from him, thus hindering his defense. In response the judge ordered a recess until July 28.”
Continue to pray the truth behind these charges will be revealed and that Pastor Shabanov will be released. Pray for Pastor Shebanov and his family during this difficult time. Ask that their testimonies will draw nonbelievers into fellowship with God.
